Matsco has served the dental market since 1989, the veterinary market since 1998 and the vision care market since 2004.
Is Matsco affiliated with any other industry groups or organizations?
Since 1996, Matsco has been the only practice finance company selected especially for ADA members and endorsed by ADA Member AdvantageSM. Since 2000, we have been the only practice financing company recommended by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). We support members with preferred rates for practice financing services and a consultative, comprehensive approach to their practices’ success.

Founded in 1983 and based in Emeryville, California, Matsco employs about 120 people and currently has over $1 billion in assets. Matsco became a part of Greater Bay Bancorp in 2000. What is customized practice financing?
Customized practice financing is the process of designing a loan package that meets as closely as possible the practitioner’s monthly budget requirements and preferred payment terms (number of years for loan payment), while providing the best interest rates available. All of these factors are carefully calculated at Matsco when designing each custom practice financing package.
Don’t all practice lenders offer customized financing packages?
No. Many large lenders are only able to offer a predetermined financing package with established terms and fees. Matsco has the flexibility and resources to provide customized service to every client, with repayment terms based on their particular needs.
How is Matsco different from other practice lenders?
There are three key ways that Matsco is different from other lenders.
First, Matsco provides practice financing based primarily on the income of the practice – or what we call Performance-Based Lending™ – rather than personal assets such as a home. This allows borrowers to preserve the equity of those assets for future use, while enabling new graduates and others with fewer accumulated assets to more easily make the leap to practice ownership.
